DTE Energy to Weatherproof More Than 100 Homes Free of Charge
What: Energy efficiency experts from DTE Energy, along with members of The Heat and Warmth Fund will descend upon a neighborhood in Detroit to provide home energy consultations and install weatherization and energy-saving equipment for families free of charge. The Neighborhood Energy Efficiency Day (N.E.E.D.) is part of DTE Energy and THAW's Week of Warmth (www.weekofwarmth.org) activities. Reporters will have access to homeowners and can video/photograph installation of new energy efficient furnaces, compact fluorescent light bulbs, insulation and other products.
When: Saturday, Nov. 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where: Teams of energy efficiency experts will gather at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, 6330 Pembroke in Detroit, MI 48221
Why: The Neighborhood Energy Efficiency Day is an opportunity to help inform customers about ways to save money, enlist the help of communities to get involved and make a real difference in the lives of residents in a hands-on way.
