DTE Energy, Employees and Retirees Pledge More Than $2.3 Million to United Way


DETROIT, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- DTE Energy employees and retirees pledged more than $1.6 million to the 2008 United Way Campaign. The DTE Energy Foundation provided an additional contribution of $750,000, bringing the total donation from the company, employees and retirees to more than $2.3 million.

"With the challenges facing Michigan today, United Ways are more important than ever in helping to solve our community's problems," said Anthony F. Earley Jr., DTE Energy chairman and chief executive officer. "I am very proud of our employees and the unfailing generosity they show year after year to those who need a helping hand."

Employee and retiree contributions will be distributed to 35 United Way chapters throughout Michigan.
