DTE Energy Customer Service and Economic Development executive steps away to focus on family health concerns

DETROIT, Feb. 16, 2018 — DTE Energy today announced that David L. Johnson will leave his position as Senior Vice President of Customer Service & Economic Development. Johnson is stepping away from the company to take care of a family member battling a serious and chronic illness.

During Johnson’s nearly 20-year career with DTE, he led the strategy and operations for Customer Service, including billing and meter reading services, collections and theft, contact center operations, overall customer experience, business and residential customer marketing and customer research. More recently, he also led the company’s Economic Development team, focused on attracting new businesses to Michigan and growing the company’s customer base.

“Through his leadership, dedication and creativity, Dave has made many significant contributions during his tenure at DTE, most recently leading the successful launch of a new customer billing and payment system,” said Jerry Norcia, President and Chief Operating Officer, DTE Energy. “Dave’s passion for the City of Detroit has made him an advocate for not only the city but for our customers who live and work here. We fully support Dave at this difficult time in his personal life and thank him for his 20 years of service at DTE Energy.”
