DTE Energy customers can report street light outages online

DETROIT, MI - DTE Energy residential and business customers can report street light outages online at dteenergy.com/streetlight.

“We need our customers’ help to let us know when a street light isn’t working,” said Ed Henderson, DTE Energy manager, Community Lighting. “We have more than 200,000 street lights in our service area and when there’s a problem, our customers’ help can be invaluable.”

To report a street light outage at their home or business, customers need to fill in the address on the online form. If they spot a street light outage elsewhere, customers type in the city location, the intersection nearest to the affected light and their contact information.

“With our online system, reporting a street light outage – and getting it fixed – is easier and faster than ever,” Henderson said. “Completing the forms takes only a minute, but can make a big difference in getting the repair done as quickly as possible.”

In addition to the new online system, customers can report street light problems by calling DTE Energy toll-free at (800) 477-4747 or by contacting their city or township offices.

Street lights in Detroit are owned and maintained by the city’s Public Lighting Department (PLD). Detroit residents can call PLD at (313) 267-7266 to report street light outages.
